Unclean… Until Jesus
The God Who Turns Around
Guest Speaker: Mark Porter
Scripture: Mark 5:25–34
Message Summary
This week, guest speaker Mark Porter shared a powerful message from Mark chapter 5 — the story of the woman with the issue of blood. For twelve long years, she suffered in pain, shame, and isolation. She had tried everything, spent everything, and only grew worse. But one day, she heard that Jesus was passing by — and in faith, she reached out and touched the hem of His garment.
That single act of faith changed everything.
In an instant, she was healed — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Main Points
1. You’re Not a Burden to Jesus
In the chaos of the crowd, Jesus never rushed, never panicked, never ignored.
He wasn’t bothered by the people pressing in around Him — and He’s not bothered by you.
Whatever you’re carrying, Jesus says, “Come to Me.”
You’re not a bother. You’re His priority.
2. The Woman’s Condition Is Our Condition
Her sickness represented more than a physical issue — it was a picture of all of us.
We’ve all carried sin, shame, addiction, or hurt that we couldn’t fix on our own.
Like her, we’ve tried everything else to get better… but it only made things worse.
Until Jesus.
When everything else failed, she reached out — and that touch brought life.
3. Stop Faking It — Be Real Before God
Too many believers walk into church pretending everything’s fine.
We hide behind smiles and clichés like “I’m blessed,” while we’re breaking inside.
But healing begins when we get honest.
You can’t be healed while you’re hiding — but when you come to Jesus as you really are, He meets you with grace, not judgment.
4. Faith That Reaches
This woman didn’t wait until she had it all together.
She reached out in faith — weak, desperate, but real.
Her faith didn’t move mountains; it just moved her to Jesus.
That’s all faith needs to do.
Even a mustard seed of faith can unlock the miraculous power of God.
5. Jesus Turns Toward You
When she touched Him, power went out from Jesus — and He turned around.
He wasn’t planning to stop, but He stopped for her.
Everyone else stepped back… but Jesus drew near.
He called her “Daughter.”
The first word of belonging she’d heard in over a decade.
Jesus didn’t just heal her body — He restored her identity.
Final Takeaway
You don’t need to have it all together to come to Jesus.
Bring your brokenness, your sin, your exhaustion, your guilt — and watch Him turn toward you.
He’s not too busy. You’re not too far gone.
You’re not unclean — you’re His.
“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” — Mark 5:34
